Hi, how can we help you?

Watching Kanopy on Apple TV

Setting up

You can now download the Kanopy app to your Apple TV (4th generation and above)!

To download the app, go to the App Store on your Apple TV, search for Kanopy and install the app.

When you first open the Kanopy app, you will be able to browse content, but not play the films. In order to play, you will need to link your Kanopy account. To do this:

  1. Select any film and press play.
  2. Click on “Link My Account”. Further instructions will appear on your TV screen (and are outlined in Steps 3-5).
  3. Go to kanopy.com/link using a computer or mobile device. If you are not signed into your account, you will be prompted to do so before you can enter the code.
  4. Enter the code displayed on the left side of your TV screen.
  5. Click Submit.

If the linking is successful, the message will change on your TV screen to let you know that you can select “Watch Now” with your Apple TV remote to start viewing films. Once this is complete, you will be able to start viewing films on your Apple TV.

If you have an older generation Apple TV, you can view Kanopy via Airplay
